My way to pottery – part 5. I will make it short and everybody here knows: I was going on with pottery. But after my five years as a potter student, the next two years I did not spend a lot time in my own studio producing. I often was there to think, to sketch and sometimes to make a kind of ‚prototype‘. I changed a lot in my life, first of all I started to work all alone in my workshop. That was a challenge: I was responsible for all I did. Nobody was around, when I had a problem, nobody who helps me, nobody who knows everything. But I also felt absolutely free and this was a great felling! Now, I was back being my own chief, also in my pottery studio. The second thing I changed was the size of the other company I had: I moved to a smaller building and formed also a smaller team. This was in 2011. Two years later we sold our house where also my first potter studio was. And finally, in 2015, I also sold my education and communication company. And now I am here: Working in a small potter studio in Zurich and living in a flat in the center of the city. Sometimes I also live in the South of Switzerland, where I have the 500 year old house I showed you weeks ago – today’s foto shows my porcelain tableware on the old wooden floor. I will start the renovation in April and the project is to create a potter studio there and a small exhibition space. And in Zurich? Of course I am going on working in my studio and in addition to that I will start with four to five exhibitions of other artists a year. There is so many talented people around and I am happy to offer a space where I can bring together some of them. Btw: In the next days I will publish a first program on my website. I am curious about everything. And: An absolutely unexpected thing happened in this community: I found wonderful artists here on instagram and with some of them I will start the first exhibitions in my studio in Zurich. Stay tuned. #tea #ceramics #porcelain #tableware #bowl #keramik #white #pottery #series #perfection #handmade #craft #clay #making #simple #exhibition #contemporaryart #perfect #glaze #stilllife #zurich #switzerland #art #photo #kunst #modern #japan #elegant #korea #minimal
