Tbt when I finished my five years training period as a potter, I made three types of final work: First, a hand-thrown tableware collection in stoneware with five different craquele celadon glazes that I created consisting of three sizes of plates, three sizes of cups and two types of bowls, second, an installation with fifty-five mold porcelain vessels and each piece individual grooved on the wheel and third the object that you see on the pictures one to three: It is an abacus, all pieces are hand thrown in stoneware and coated with a red iron glaze. My brother made the iron frame – the installation is now in my garden in the South part of Switzerland. After all this I was entitled to say: I am a ceramist with an academical background in architecture and philosophy. I finished my academic studies in 1995 and my five year apprenticeship as a potter in 2006. #ceramics #pottery #abacus #way #art #artwork #red #clay #iron #zurich #switzerland #japan #zen #handmade #project #architecture #philosophy
