It is over! Last Saturday evening, I finished a last commission of my tableware edition ‚black beauties’ from this year: Maybe you remember that I had to make all the pieces a second time? Tonight I started the first kiln and on Thursday I will start a second one – then all cups, bowls and plates for the party of seven will be finally ready…..I am behind with my work because of the accident during the drying process and I lost at least two weeks of work. Tomorrow, I will start with the next pieces for a very nice client and a very patience, too: I will make a dozen of quite big bowls also in black porcelain and then I have to complete again some bowls from stoneware. I would like to finish all this year: In January and February I need all my time and energy to prepare my solo exhibition in Tokyo that opens on March 16, 2019 – I will be there maybe some of you, too? Me, today – fully focused and carefully checking the black porcelain plates: I decided to let them dry another three days before they will go into he first firing. The black porcelain pieces are a light bluegrey when they are dry. Strange how the color changes in the kiln. At home and: An apple a day keeps the doctor away! I am not sure if this is really enough but anyway: I like these red apples. Some of them in one of my porcelain bowls, hand thrown in very white and translucent porcelain, glossy glazed inside, outside without any glaze but fine sanded. I love these bowls and last week, I made some of them in black in different sizes. Tomorrow I will go on throwing with white porcelain, also some of these bowls.
