I realized that I need more time for concentrate working and unfortunately it is no longer possible for me to open my studio doors every day without an appointment. In January, I changed the opening hours for my Zurich based studio. I realized during the last year that I need more time for my work and unfortunately it is no longer possible for me to open my studio doors during the whole week without an appointment. Another trip to the past and to another of my absolutely loved chicken: This one, called ‚the queen of the night’, now lives in Rome in a beautiful garden. As I told yesterday, in 2002, I made a series of seven of these sculptures, all handmade and fired in an open fire – every chick has a different character. This one I made with a black clay. The pieces are quite big with a hight of around 50 cm and tricky to make: The body often cracked. Trip to the past and to my absolutely loved chicken: This lady now lives in Geneva at a collectors home. In 2002, I made a series of seven of these sculptures, all handmade and fired in an open fire – every chick has a completely different character. The dark smoke traces on their body came from the open firing. They are big, h 50 cm and very hard to make: A big body has to be fired like in an african ipen field fire and the body often cracked.
