Like the sky or the ocean: These little beauties make me dream – another coffee cup impression. I love the rough blue stoneware clay together with my matt blue glaze. And the blue of the cups together with the dark brown from the blue mountain coffee match well Blue allover! I also made two sizes of these cups, medium size for a cappuccino and a smaller size for espresso. My father was born in Italy, he sure was an ‚influencer‘ for my coffee taste……The gems are available in my shop in Zurich and also in my online shop: shop.helga-ritsch.ch . And new: They are available at the concept store 90sqm in Zurich! I made about 80 coffee- and espressocups and throw them with three different clays: When I finished with one clay, it was a lot to clean before I could start with the next type. In spring I planted hydrangea in my garden and their color gave me inspiration for these glazes. I tried to achieve these colors for the coffeecups I planned to make for this winter season – here they are! I made two sizes and five different colors: lavendel, iceblue, springgreen, darkrose and white – the galzes are all matt on a speckled stoneware clay. I am happy that all the 80 coffeecups came out of the kiln in a nice result, I was very curious about because I not often create glazes with colorpigments – I was relieved to see that the colors really are like the ones from my hydrangeas in my garden….. I am now working on my next project and I am throwing 61 porcelain bowls for the exhibition that will start December 1st. I have not a lot of time and I am working quite hard.
