Sneak peek on a bisquit fired tea set, hand thrown in a red rough clay from Spain – work in progress: Although I have a lot of commissions to finish……I also take my time to realize new pieces for my winter exhibition that will start on Sunday, December 9, 12 – 17. group of teabowls, January 2018. Red stoneware from wonderful Spain. I am curious how they will look after the last firing and I will know this in about ten days – at the moment I have to balance between all the pieces ln different clays and firing methods and sometimes it is a real challenge not to loose control over all: The different delivery times, the different clays with their different temperatures, the glazes with their different firing character – all these points need special care and a lot of organization. So I feel happy when I leave the studio in the evening and everything seem to run smoothly. Celebrating the current exhibition ‚ginger for you’: The bowls. I made fifteen different bowls in size and shape for the filigran ginger plants that Leopold let grew during the last weeks in his student apartment. And now they are all in my studio. The black stoneware bowls match perfect with the green of the plants – come and have a look if you are around! The installation is in my shop window until September 1st. The bowls are all hand thrown, stoneware and coated with a magical new black glaze that I created especially for this project. Collection ‚Masterpieces’, 2018.
