When my daughter finds a tree….I have not a lot of time for ceramics at the moment because I am practicing every day for hours for a concert with our choir that takes place next Saturday and Sunday. I need a lot of concentration – my daughter shows me how to do it. Of course I am still working in the studio but for this week only in the afternoon. I love music and singing and it is a great time at the moment! Bowls – different sizes and different clays, all wheelthrown in stoneware. Today I did not work that much – but I finished a client’s commission – because it was so beautiful to look out of the studio window: It was snowing the whole day and now the houses and streets are white and wonderful. I do not like winter very much but a scene like today makes me happy. Love this place where I live and work when I am not in Zurich and I already wrote about before: It is a beautiful small village in the South of Switzerland, and there is the old house I am renovating. Actually it is impossible to work there at the moment because – as you can see on the photo – winter arrived, so it is cold in the house because there is no heating. I am working on it until the next winter…..But for photoshootings it is a very good place also in winter – some of the photos I posted recently have been taken there. It is a very quiet and romantic space surrounded by wonderful landscape and very nice people live in the village. There they do not speak German but Italian – and it brings back some memories from my childhood because my father was born in Italy. He died when I was in my twenties and he unfortunately never saw my pottery development. Well, when you travel through Switzerland you maybe stop by – the village is called Soazza and it is near Bellinzona.
