‚Don’t protect me – I am fragile anyway’: Covid-19 special of the edition ‚Masterpieces’. I opened the door of the kiln today and found this delicate celadon green bowl. Some days ago, I had coated this bowl with a glaze that I found in one of my buckets without content description and became curious what kind of glaze I was hoarding there…… it was this celadon green. It goes well with these spring days, I thought. 7/ HOPELESS: It is over. 2019. For two decades I have been working sporadically on groups of works with the main titles ‘HOPE’ and ‘HOPELESS’. With ‘HOPELESS: It is over’ I present another work that fits into this topic. The group I created in 2019 – consisting of fifteen hand thrown and sculpturally finished bottles for tears and a wide plate to give them support – is dedicated to the boundless sadness I suffered when my father died 26 years ago. One cold but sunny afternoon in February 1993, he was 58 years old. Exhibited in my showroom.
